Hunza Serena Hotel is looking for a Chief Engineer for its hotels in Karimabad, Hunza, Gilgit-Baltistan with 12-15 years of professional experience. The application deadline is 10 March 2024.
Responsibilities
1. Develop systems and procedures that ensure safety for guests, employees, plant, machinery, and property.
2. Defines service standards regarding maintenance in all the areas of the hotel & ensures adherence to these.
3. Prepares preventive maintenance schedules and ensures adherence.
4. Directs budgeting process for all capital expenditure to ensure that the property is maintained to the best industry standard.
5. Identifies & develops new equipment & materials to enhance the product quality.
6. Identifies and inducts environment-friendly systems and equipment.
7. Develop an overall plan and strategy for optimizing the use of energy.
8. Guides the team in day to day operations of the hotel.
9. Ensures liaisons with relevant government agencies to ensure compliance with various statutory requirements.
10. Prepares capital & R & M budgets for Engineering.
11. Coordinates and prioritizes maintenance activity of rooms & public areas with the executive housekeeper.
12. Ensures adherence to company & hotel policies by departmental employees.
13. Directs the organization of work within the department, including assignments, times schedules, and vacations.
14. Attend to any legal cases about the Engineering department.
15. Ensures spare parts & materials are available at all times in stores by proper planning.
16. Ensures that all renovated areas are as per required standards and specifications, before taking over from a project.
17. Constantly monitors key performance indicators for the department and takes corrective action as and when required.
18. Motivates and encourages team building in the Engineering Department.
19. Keep abreast of the latest developments in Hotel Engineering.
20. Counsel subordinates in personal and work-related matters.
21. Recommends hiring, promotion, increments, disciplinary action, and performance performance-related salary increments for all subordinates.
22. Uses a specifically designed appraisal system to review the performance of direct subordinates and determine their development needs.
23. Ensures proper functioning of STP, water Filtration Plant & Solar System
