Hunza Serena Hotel is looking for an Executive Housekeeper for its hotels in Karimabad, Hunza, Gilgit-Baltistan with 10-12 years of professional experience. The application deadline is 10 March 2024.

Job Summary

The position is responsible for ensuring seamless and outstanding Housekeeping Operations. The incumbent must administrate all housekeeping services for guest rooms, and public and staff areas; and ensure the highest standards of sanitation, safety, comfort, and aesthetics.

The incumbent must have the ability to perform well under pressure, lead the team, be exceptionally good with interpersonal Skills, and exhibit a calm, professional environment at all times.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

STRATEGIC:

• Defines service standards regarding cleanliness, amenities, and maintenance in rooms and public areas and ensures adherence to these.
• Develops new concepts of service and methods to achieve organizational objectives.
• Directs the Budgeting process for all capital and operational requirements to achieve the required profitability.
• Identifies and develops new products, equipment, and amenities to enhance product quality.
OPERATIONS:
• Ensures implementation of major changes in room and public area design, to achieve optimum standards.
• Recommends changes in methods, equipment, or staff to improve departmental standards/ productivity.
• Prepares capital and operational expenditure budgets for Housekeeping.
• Prepares repair schedules for rooms, keeping in mind optimum utilization of room inventory.
• Responsible for all departmental master keys.
• Directs the organization of work within the department, including assignments, time schedules, and vacations.
• Ensures quality of all hotel uniforms and linen and controls issues, returns, alterations, purchases, etc.
• Ensures maintenance and upkeep of garden areas and indoor/outdoor plants as per international standards.
• Ensures aesthetic standards of flower arrangements in the hotel.
• Ensures quality laundering and dry cleaning of guest and house linen through effective coordination of the laundry department.
• Ensures quality of housekeeping supplies to the hotel by approving samples that meet standards and specifications
• Constantly monitors key performance indicators for the department and takes corrective action.
• Ensures adherence to company and hotel policies by all departmental employees.
• Ensures adherence to international standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all areas (guest, heart of the house).

STAFF TRAINING AND DEPARTMENTAL COORDINATION AND REPORTING:

• Ensures department employees are fully trained through constant on-the-job training.
• Ensures attendance on behavioral and vocational training in own and related areas to enhance skills and encourage multi-functionality.
• Personally conducts key training and helps in up-skilling of the team.
• Ensures career, development and succession planning for the key roles in housekeeping.
• Uses an Annual Performance Appraisal System to review the performance of direct reporting associates and determine their development
needs.
• Recommends hiring, promotion, increments, disciplinary action, and performance-related salary increments for all subordinates.
• Handles team conflicts and grievances.
• Ensures department employees are fully trained on all hotel systems, and procedures to ensure safety requirements.
• Counsel subordinates in personal and work-related matters.
• Attends behavioral and vocational training in own and related work areas to enhance skills and develop multi-functionality.
